Newtonmore is a well established resort town nestling in the upper reaches of the Spey valley within the Cairngorms National Park.

Lying 12 miles south of Aviemore and a close neighbour to Kingussie with whom it enjoys a fierce rivalry on the shinty pitch, Newtonmore is popular with outdoor enthusiasts, particularly anglers and grouse hunters. There are also a range of bike and walking trails to explore and bikes can be hired in the town.

Newtonmore's chief attractions are the excellent Highland Folk Museum the remarkable Waltzing Waters Light and Water Theatre and for those hunting their Highland ancestry, the Clan MacPherson Museum. Newtonmore is also home to the very popular Wild Cat Trail with walks around the village.

Newtonmore is a great place to find accommodation in the Cairngorms National Park.  You have Bed and Breakfasts, Guest Houses, Self-catering, Hotels and Hostels within the village of Newtonmore with plenty to choose from. There is also Crubenbeg Highland Holiday Cottages and Crubenbeg House on the outskirts of the village on the road south to Perth.
