Walking - Cairngorm Mountain

Walking - Cairngorm Mountain

Description

Summit Walk

The Summit Walk takes you from the Ptarmigan Station at 3600ft up to the summit of Cairn Gorm where on a fine day you will experience the magnificent 360 degree views over the Strath, the Moray Coast, Lochnagar and the Cairngorm Mountain Range. Your guide will be able to give information on the views, the history and stories of the area, as well as the flora and fauna which lives and survives at this altitude. You might be lucky enough to see Ptarmigan, Dotterel, Snow Bunting, Reindeer or even Eagles on your 90 minute circular route. The Summit Walk operates daily between May and October with two walks at 10.30am and 1.30pm. Please note that customers wishing to take part in the Summit Walk will be required to either purchase a Funicular Railway ticket or make their own way to the Top Station. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of your walk.

Guided Wilderness Day Hike

On Thursdays in May through to October you can join a Ranger for a walk in the Northern Corries of Cairngorm, and perhaps onto the edge of the plateau. Mostly on mountain trails, we will explore the glaciated uplands, look for alpine-arctic species and experience the High Cairngorms at first hand. Please pick up your tickets from the Ticket Office and meet at 10.00am at the Ranger Base, return around 3.30pm. Bring lunch, waterproofs and your walking boots. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Please note, between the 4th June - 4th July whilst our Funicular Railway is undergoing some essential maintenance, we will only be able to offer the following guided walks:
4 HOUR WALK (COIRE AN T-SNEACHDA)
