Loch Insh Watersports - Fishing
Superb brown trout, salmon, pike and arctic char fishing on Loch Insh the largest loch on the river Spey with some of the largest fish caught in recent years. The largest salmon caught was 36lbs and there are also many large pike 28lbs (record) and sea trout 7lbs (record) that have been caught too.
Boat hire can be arranged from April to October with or without outboards. we have three boats that we rent on any day so please book to avoid disapointment. the normal day is from 9am till 9pm but other times can be arranged if you need this. part of the day hire is also possible these are:
9am till 1pm
1pm till 5pm
5pm till 9pm.
Bank fishing is available in two forms. we have a stocked lochan for beginners you can buy a permit for this and it is fly fishing only. This is done by how many fish you catch. There is no time scale on this but one permit has a two fish limit.Once you have caught your two fish thats it! Stocked lochan is great for kids.
You can also buy a permit for the main loch for a day or part day as with the boat fishing. Speak to us about where the best bits to go are!
Rod and reel hire is also available.
We can also arrange instruction for your party - just let us know what sort of fishing you are interested in and we can tailor the day to suit you. Perfect if you have never fished with a fly before.

Opening Times:
All year round for restaurant, bar, shop, accomodation and fishing from the bank.
(Please be aware that the Watersports and Wildlife tour boat are only open from 1st April till end October. All other activites contiue to be open all year which includes the dry slope, mountain bike hire, archery, woodland walks etc...)
