Fused and Light is the studio/ gallery in Newtonmore specialising in local artwork and contemporary glasswork. It is located at The Trove, Main St, Newtonmore (opposite the Wild Flour restaurant).
The glasswork comprises fused glass, stained glass and engraved pieces by Anne Bridgen, Alan Fisher, Aileen Asher respectively. The studio, forming part of the gallery, is equipped for fused glass work and offers work for sale (jewellery, coasters, bowls and decorative pieces) as well as offering classes in fused glass and taking commissions for larger works such as kitchen or bathroom splashbacks.
Short DROP IN session in glass fusing for £15 (children £10). This can run any time by arrangement for 2 or more people. This will give an introduction to the process and allow you to make either a coaster or small hanging piece. The children's session involves making a coaster using precut glass, glass paints and fusible material.
I will be running classes providing a comprehensive overview to the different possibilities offered by glass fusing and approx 3 finished pieces will be made, cost £70. This class of approx 4h covers glass cutting, and the different effects possible with glass fusing. Dates and times tbc or by arrangement. These can be run together in a day for 2 people in a private class, or over 3 sessions.
