The Open Canoe originates from the Natives of North America who built the craft for travelling, hunting and trading, today the canoe is used mainly for recreation and is possibly our most popular activity. It's fun and easy to learn and once you have acquired the basic skills many exciting opportunities await - day journeys on Loch Lomond, expeditions on the lochs of the far north or paddle some of Scotland's great rivers such as the Spey, Dee or the Tay.
Active Outdoor Pursuits offer a huge range of Adventure days, 2 - 10 day Activity holidays and training courses. During your visit to Aviemore and the Cairngorms make sure you join us for a great adventure. Activities include: White water rafting, Canoeing, Kayaking, Duckies, Gorge scrambling, Canyoning, Rock climbing, abseiling, Mountain walking and mountain biking as well as skiing and snowboarding in winter.
