Wester Balvattan is a traditional stone-built cottage converted from an old croft steading. It is adjacent to the owner's house and surrounded by a beautiful garden in a quiet country location.
Close to Cairngorm and in the National Park, Wester Balvattan, has been refurbished to a very high standard, it is light and airy, providing comfortable self-catering accommodation.
The steading is surrounded by fields and from your own patio there are magnificent views of the Cairngorm and Grampian Mountains. The Strathspey Railway's steam trains can regularly be seen puffing through the trees.
Situated in the centre of the Spey Valley, the steading provides an excellent base from which to indulge in walking, climbing, skiing, fishing, sailing, golfing, cycle riding - both on and off road and bird watching. The famous RSPB Osprey Centre is nearby as are the Loch Morlich Watersports Centre, the Cairngorm Mountain Railway and the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre. Other local activities include The Landmark Centre, off-road driving, quad biking, archery and clay pigeon shooting.
The steading is an excellent starting place for touring. Near to the A95 which links Aviemore to Grantown on Spey and beyond, Wester Balvattan is not far from Boat of Garten. Inverness is just over half an hour by car, with its Castle, Museum, Cathedral and the Eden Court Theatre. There are many other places of interest and natural beauty within easy reach.
