Braemar Youth Hostel is an impressive former shooting lodge standing within extensive grounds in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. The youth hostel offers a range of shared accommodation, private and family rooms.
A popular choice for families, groups and outdoor enthusiasts, the hostel has a mix of traditional fixtures and modern furnishings with many homely touches such as big comfy sofas, a large and well equipped self-catering kitchen and spacious dining room.
Braemar is a great winter location for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy skiing and boarding at Glenshee and The Lecht or walking in the Cairngorms. Other year-round activities include mountain biking, wildlife watching and golf. Balmoral Castle is nearby (open between April-July).
The Braemar snowgate webcam which points at the snow gates next to the youth hostel, heading towards Glenshee, is always worth checking in the winter months just to make sure you can get to the ski resort or the hostel.
