Carr-bridge, accomodation, activities, information

Carr BridgeMain Street CarrBridge

The small but lively village of Carr-bridge can be found in the heart of the Scottish Highlands at the northern gateway to the Cairngorms National Park and is home to the Landmark Forest Adventure Park - one of Scotland's top visitor attractions.

Carr-bridge bed and breakfast, hotel and guest house accommodation is perfect for exploring the Cairngorms National park of just enjoying the woodlands walks around Carrbridge itself..

Surrounded by spectacular forest, moorland and mountain scenery, Carr-bridge is situated within Badenoch and Strathspey, just seven miles north of Aviemore and just 25 miles south of Inverness with bus, rail and links to all major airports. The first of the Scottish ski villages, Carrbridge provides the ideal base for both summer and winter visitors for a truly memorable Highland holiday.

As well as its ancient packhorse bridge - the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands - the village is renowned for its traditional and contemporary music and eclectic programme of events including the annual Carrbridge Live arts and music festival, the Carrbridge Gathering and Scottish Open Chainsaw Carving Championship (www.carvecarrbridge.com) and the World Porridge Making Championship (www.goldenspurtle.com), which is followed by connoisseurs of Scotland's national dish across the world.

There is a wide choice of accommodation to suit all budgets including hotels, guest houses, B&B's, self catering hostels and bunkhouses. The village also has its own golf course, bowling green and pony trekking centre while there is also a wealth of tourist attractions and outdoor activities right on the doorstep including walking, climbing, mountain biking, bird-watching, pony and quad bike trekking, watersports, golf and skiing and snowboarding.

Among the main attractions in Carr-bridge is the Landmark Forest Adventure Park with its thrilling wild watercoaster ride, exciting aerial challenge course, steam powered saw mill, tree top trail, adventure playgrounds and shops and restaurant all set within 30 acres of ancient Caledonian pine forest and providing a perfect day out for all the family.
