The village of Blair Atholl in Highland Perthshire nestles in the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains, at the southern gateway to the Cairngorms National Park. Easy to get to by road or rail, it is a great place to begin your visit to the Cairngorms National Park.
There are lots of things to do locally from variously graded walks, mountain biking, gorge walking, pony trekking, golf and shopping, to visiting local attractions and much more. A comprehensive programme of events is staged throughout the year. This includes traditional entertainment, family orientated Gala Nights and the very popular Village Markets.
Blair Atholl has a number of local shops and places to eat. Local attractions include the Pass of Killicrankie, Blair Castle, the Atholl Country Life Museum and the working Watermill. The nearby House of Bruar has been described as ‘the Harrods of the north’ and offers a stunning range of some of Scotland’s finest produce, clothing and rural artwork.
