Pilates classes focusing on efficient movement, body/postural awareness and whole body strengthening with a focus on deep abdominal and pelvic muscles. Stretching and deep lengthening of muscles/easing out areas of tension such as shoulders and hips. Enhancing overall flexibility and spinal mobility.
Pilates is a brilliant and effective practice alongside sports such as cycling, running, golf and football. Decrease your chance of injury by identifying and working on areas of tension, imbalance and weakness. Increase your stamina and lung capacity by practicing deep breathing and understand how this can assist powerful, sustained movements.
Pilates can also be a very effective way to help many issues such as lower back pain, shoulder stiffness, hip issues, post natal problems and much more.
Suitable for both men and women of all ages. Exercises can be modified, increasing or decreasing difficulty level depending on individual needs and fitness.
Classes with Lucy Boyes, an experienced teacher who has worked with the body and movement as a focus for 15 years. Lucy trained and qualified with The Pilates Foundation and is undergoing continued professional training.
