Initiated in 1987 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee and to raise funds for the refurbishment of the Victoria and Albert Halls, Ballater's Victoria Week brings together numerous sections of the community to lay on a host of fun activities for all ages. This year sees a number of events new to the programme. We hope you enjoy them. We value your feedback and you can let us know what you think about the events you take part in, the new-style brochure or anything else, using the contacts page. Many of our events are free and Victoria Week simply would not happen without the support of countless folk from the village and round about who give their time, knowledge and skills to make it happen. To each and every one of them the committee extends its grateful thanks. As well as providing a worthy diversion to both locals and visitors, Victoria Week raises thousands of pounds for local groups every year. So if you see someone shaking a bucket please dig as deep as you can. And if you really like what you see, you may like to join the crew that makes Victoria Week happen. Next year's our Silver Jubilee (and HM's Diamond), so the challenge is on to make it the best yet!
